Can internet VIDEO Live Streams be captured and saved?

I'd really appreciate any comments on this :
Is it technically possible to "capture"/"save" internet VIDEO live streams onto a PC file/download to later put onto DVD?

I know of 2 people who tried using different software and both attempts failed, and that's with software that was suppossed to do it. Another guy told me that he used professional software but the results were totally useless; all he got was a choppy picture that was out of synche with the audio.

Any thoughts? T

Thanks !

Thanks for the idea, your second opinion is appreciated.

The only problem is that the PC doesn't have the proper video and audio outputs that you can run the correct cables to the inputs of a TV & DVD recorder . So it wouldn't surprise me if that was intentionally done to prevent making such recordings.

The reason why I'm asking this question is because CBS News did a internet live stream of the original CBS coverage of President Kennedy's assassination, all 56 hours in real time to the moment exactly 50 years later from Friday Nov.22 thru Monday Nov.25, 2013 .

I knew about some people who were planning to "capture"/"save" the live stream onto their PC's (and later put it onto DVD). They had the software to do this, but,
unfortunately, it didn't work .

Now, if it can be done ( even if it's a particular type of software that's uncommonly expensive) , it stands to reason that somebody did successfully record all this 1963 CBS TV footage.

By the way, 42 hours hours of the original CBS JFK coverage is available to traders.
About half of that is excellent quality, the other is grainy. This live stream would of been a great opportunity for a major upgrade of the grainy footage & to acquire the
14 "missing" hours.

MAYBE NOT LIVE UNLESS YOU USE A SCREEN RECORDER AND MOST DO NOT WORK VERY WELL. THERE IS SOFTWARE AND IF YOU WANT A FAST MP4 FROM A STREAMING SITE TRY SAVEFROMNET.COM (OR GOOGLE SAVEFROMNET) ITS VERY COOL
